Recently, Ford announced four safety recalls in the U.S. The largest recall affects 1.2 million 2011-2017 Ford Explorer SUVs. That recall occurred because of the risk that the vehicles may experience a fractured rear suspension tow link, which could cause drivers to lose steering control. Dealers will remove and replace the left and right rear hand suspension toe links.

The second recall covers almost 125,000 Ford F-150s. The 2013 Ford F-150s that are equipped with 5.0 liter and 6.2-liter gas engines are being recalled because of a potential transmission calibration issue. The powertrain control module software that was installed as part of a previous recall was incomplete. Drivers of the trucks could risk the trucks downshifting into first gear while driving.

The third recall covers only 4,300 Ford Econoline vehicles, which have an issue with their transmission. The fourth recall affects only vehicles in Canada and occurred because of the risk of a fracture in the rear suspension toe link.

It can be challenging to stay informed of product recalls. If you are concerned about your vehicle, you can search at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website using your vehicle identification number. You can also sign up for safety alerts on a specific vehicle.
