Conroe Driver Survives Rollover Crash But Killed By Drunk Driver

A tragic accident occurred in Conroe that killed one driver and injured another. The accident happened just after midnight on I-45 at the Highway 242 exit. A man driving a Toyota truck was attempting to take the exit when he hit some barrels near a concrete barrier, causing his truck to slip and slide before it stopped about 100 feet up the exit ramp.

The driver survived the rollover accident and was climbing out of the truck when another person driving a Toyota truck took the same exit. The second driver hit the first driver as he was trying to climb out of his truck, which pinned him under both trucks. First responders attempted to cut the victim out of the vehicles for two hours, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second truck was transported to the hospital in stable condition. The surviving driver is expected to face a charge of intoxication manslaughter.
