The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recently issued a recall alert for a popular brand of weed trimmers, the STIHL PolyCut Mowing Heads. According to the recall alert, the bolts that connect the plastic blades in the weed trimmers can come loose, which poses a risk of injury to the user and others in the vicinity. The company says that the blades can fly off in some cases.
The recall alert says that the company which manufactures the weed trimmers has received 28 reports of loose bolts, and two reports of injuries. The weed trimmers were sold between 2018 and 2019, and were inexpensive, at between $30 and $40.
Companies often manufacture products which are dangerous for consumers. When that occurs, the manufacturing company can be held liable for damages, which can include compensation for lost wages, pain and suffering, medical expenses, and more. Unfortunately, in some cases companies attempt to hide dangerous products in an effort to save money and to avoid negative publicity, which can result in greater injuries for consumers.
If you have been harmed by a dangerous product in Houston, you have a right to compensation for your damages from the company. Call us today to learn more or to schedule a free consultation on your case.
